Ministry in Ukraine

Our Trip to Ukraine

We began with 10 days in the beautiful Carpathian Mountains where we joined a wonderful team of speakers and helpers in leading the Missions Academy. All ages came from various parts of Ukraine and even a few from America.

Once again we traveled with Teresa and Bruce Muller to Ukraine from Redding, California! This is our second trip together – invited by and blessed to minister with our missionary friends, John and Tanya Lynch.

We had many beautiful times of prayer and interceding for Ukraine.

Group Shot

Our days were filled with main session teachings, small workshops, panel discussions, one on one counseling/prayer, group prayer/intercession, worship, activation in evangelism, activation in praying for healing, good fellowship, food, and fun!

So many testimonies are still coming in! Many received refreshment, encouragement, burdens released, anxiety and oppression lifted, and physical healing.

During the prayer time at the end of the Healing Workshop, students prayed for this lady who had been suffering from of a throat condition for 5 years. She had not been able to swallow without pain or coughing up her food multiple times each meal she tried to eat. After prayer she said all her pain went away immediately! Ever since then she has been able to eat normally with everyone – “no more embarrassment!”

This lady also cooks food for men in the army, managing to preserve it safely through canning and sending it miles away through word of mouth. (Apparently the food rations are sparce…) God has been providing the funds miraculously since the beginning of the war, as she just simply cooks out of her own kitchen. At the Academy she rejoiced again as she testified about another donation of $50 that just came in for her ministry. She also said, “I got healed of sadness from losing people in the war.”

Amazing what Jesus can do when we offer Him our small loaves and fishes even in the midst of our pain.

Roma (pictured above) was granted permission to leave the army for a few days to come to the Academy where his family was, since he was posted just a few hours away. “I haven’t felt the presence of God like this for 8 years! And I got here safely – that’s a testimony!...I don’t know when I will be released, but I learned to have hope and trust in God.”

Forgiveness was a big topic – the Holy Spirit came mightily, changing mindsets and hearts like only He can. By the end, people were praying for their enemies and blessing the nations – especially Russia. So powerful! As this was a Missions Academy, everyone was praying about what God had in store for them next – where to go, what to do… Some received visions from God about going into Russia after the war was over and seeing amazing fruit. Others made plans to go or help others go into Crimea with food for the Ukrainians trapped and suffering there. (One of the students had a Russian passport so they could enter without any problems.)

Healing Conference

John and Tanya, along with their pastor, Ludmila, asked us to conduct a 2-day Healing Conference for their church as well as their surrounding Greek Catholic community. Interestingly, the crowd was quite different on both days. Many heard teachings for the first time about how Jesus heals today and wants to use them in praying for others as well. God’s presence was powerful, bringing peace, hope, and healing in many forms!

Vira, on the left, was healed from 30 years of pain in her neck, back, and head on the second day of the healing conference!

Olga, Vira’s mother in the middle, suffered a stroke 17 years ago, leaving her left side paralyzed with level 10 pain all these years. Receiving prayer throughout the conference and waiting to be the last to leave, Olga explained how she hadn’t yet received any healing. Besides obviously wanting to be pain free with mobility, she said it would be impossible to walk down the 4 flights of stairs from the church to the street unless God healed her. Walking up was different, she explained. But before Tanya and I (Lorena) prayed one more time, she said she had been feeling heat throughout her body during the conference. We knew God was doing something! After we prayed, she said her pain level went down to 7. Excitedly, we thanked Jesus for what he did and then asked for more. Then it went to 5. Repeat. Then it went down to 3. At that point we just prayed a blessing over her. As she started walking around to test it out, however, it went down to 2! Her mobility increased a little and with decreased pain, she was able to walk down all 4 flights of stairs by herself! Being devout Greek Catholics, this was both Olga’s and Vira’s first time attending a healing conference, but they were full of faith and are believing for Olga’s full recovery!

Tawyna Handing out Beverages at the Saturday

Every Saturday morning John and Tanya lead a team that ministers to the homeless in their nearby park with a hearty meal, a Bible story/devotional, and prayer for whoever wants it. On this Saturday, we enjoyed praying for people and Brian had the privilege of sharing a short message.

This man, George, had a heart stint and was in pain from recovering from surgery. During prayer, he said he felt God’s presence, feels lighter, and can now breath easily!

We’d like to introduce you to John and Tanya Lynch and their family! They led the Missions Academy and co-pastor the church in Ivano-Frankivsk where we did the healing conference. Before the cease fire, sirens were heard throughout the day as their city was under attack with advanced Russian drones trying to destroy the large electrical plant near them that powers the whole western part of Ukraine. In spite of the danger, John goes regularly to the front lines with a small team, rescuing people and bringing needed food and aid. We were so honored to serve with this family. Please keep them in prayer as the Lord leads you.
